First of all, trees help (3) ............................... our environment. The leaves on a tree take in air pollution. This makes our air cleaner. Trees also absorb. CO2 may contribute to global warming, the (4) ............................... in the Earth’s temperature. Thus, trees help prevent too (5) ............................... CO2 from being in the air.
Trees also naturally cool down the environment. (6)
............................... to scientific research, one young healthy tree is equivalent to ten room size air conditioners operating twenty hours a day. The leaves on a tree also create (7) ..............................., which cools the ground. This makes the air less hot. Also, (8) ............................... evaporates from tree leaves. This helps to cool the air further. All of these keep the surroundings cooler where trees (9) ................................

    PART 4

Read the passage and write the missing words. Write ONE word on each line. There is one example.

Where did your water come ............................... before it arrived in your kitchen? Is your glass of water as (1) ............................... as this morning or as old as the dinosaurs? Water on Earth is always moving round and round, (2) ............................... a wheel turning. This is called “the water cycle”, and it (3) ............................... no beginning or end. We will start (4) ............................... the oceans, the largest bodies of water on Earth.

In this part of the (5) ..............................., the sun heats the water in the oceans, and then the warm water evaporates into the air. The water in the air eventually (6) ............................... together to form very large clouds. Wind then moves the clouds over the land. When clouds finally meet cold air, the water comes down in the form of (7) ............................... or snow.

Some of this rainwater will stay on the land, but most of the water goes down (8) ............................... rivers and steams. Finally, it goes (9) ............................... to the oceans, where the cyble begins again.

The water cycle is billions of years old. So, think (10) ............................... about how old that water in your glass is! It’s much, much older than you thought.
