    1) Put the verbs in brackets in the correct form. (Page 50)

    3) Rewrite the sentences using conditional sentences Type 2. (Page 56)

    1. I can't swim, so I'm not going scuba-diving with you.

    2. I want to go on an eco tour to Phu Quoc National Park, but I don't have any holiday.

    3. Sue doesn't have Tony's email address. She can't send him a message.

    4. I could make a cake for you, but there aren't any eggs in the fridge now.

    5. Phong doesn't have enough money so he can't travel abroad.

    6. I don't drive too close to the animals on safari. They don't get scared.

    7. I can't go to the concert because I have a lot of homework to do.

    8. Nam doesn't have a camera. so he can't take pictures of his trip.

    ĐÁP ÁN:

    1. I can't swim, so I'm not going scuba-diving with you.

    →  If I could swim, I would go scuba-diving with you.

    2. I want to goon an eco tour to Phu Quoc National Park, but I don't have any holiday.

    → I would go on an ecotour to Phu Quoc National Park if I had any holiday left.

    3. Sue doesn't have Tony's email address. She can't send him a message.

    → If Sue had Tony’s email address, she would send him a message.

    4. I could make a cake for you, but there aren't any eggs in the fridge now.

    →  I would make a cake for you if there were eggs in the fridge.

    5. Phong doesn't have enough money so he can't travel abroad.

    → Phong could travel abroad if he had enough money.

    6. I don't drive too close to the animals on safari. They don't get scared.

    →  If I drove too close to animals in safari, they would get scared.

    7. I can't go to the concert because I have a lot of homework to do.

    → I would go to the concert if I didn’t have so much homework to do.

    8. Nam doesn't have a camera. so he can't take pictures of his trip.

    → If Nam had a camera, he’d take pictures of his trip.

     

    4) What does the if-clause in each sentence mean? Write a sentence with is, isn't or might to explain it.

    1. If your test score was high, your father could give you a reward.

    2. If your test score is high, your father will give you a reward.

    3. If my computer was working, I would send her an email right away.

    4. If it snows tonight, you can’t go out.
