Below are some funny and interesting inventions which won Ig Nobel prizes.
‛Clocky', a runaway alarm clock, was invented by Gauri Nanda - who became a prize winner in 2005. The clock has a mind of its own: after it goes off, if the user hits the snooze button, it jumps off the table. Then it rolls away and hides elsewhere in the room, forcing the user to get out of bed and find it to stop the ringing sound.
Two other very popular inventions that were once considered funny and given the Ig Nobel prizes are beano and the karaoke machine. In 1991, Alan Kligerman created a kind of enzyme called beano and was presented a prize. With its anti-gas effects, beano helps to prevent bloating and discomfort of the stomach. A 2004 prize was given to Daisuke Inoue with his karaoke machine. Karaoke machines have been widely used for the past few decades to satisfy the entertainment needs of people of all ages.
